Fourth Annual Cook-Off

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6899 held its fourth annual Cook-Off Saturday, April 28. Everyone had a great time and the winners are: Beans Third Place: “Buns on Burners” Mark, Judy and AL Bowen, Jay Baxter. Second Place: “Bluebonnets” Ruth Daniels, Lenora Ainsworth, Judy Mitchell, Eva McLeod. First Place: “Bears’ Cookers”: Preston and Helen Warren. Chicken Third Place: “Trinity Café”: Elaine and John Meadors, Ron and Linda Pettitt, Robert and Mary Stubblefield. Second Place: “Bears’ Cookers”: Preston and Helen Warren. First Place: “Trinity County Pit Boss”: Jason Kemper Anthony, Liz and Henry Holcombe. Ribs Third Place: “Trinity Café”: Elaine and John Meadors, Ron and Linda Pettitt, Robert and Mary Stubblefield. Second Place: “Bears’ Cookers”: Preston and Helen Warren. First Place: “Curley’s Cookers”: Elza Cude. Brisket Third Place: “South Caney Cookers”: Billy “Slick” Whitmire, Joe Ned Dean. Second Place: “Pit”: Herb Ragsdale. First Place: “What’s Cooking”: Don Arnold The men and ladies of the VFW appreciates all the help from the many business sponsors in the community who helped make this cook-off the best ever and all the money raised will go back into our community.
