The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6899 scholarship programs are designed to encourage and recognize the leadership skills of our students in Trinity County and to provide them with financial support in their continuing educations studies. They are the future of this great nation and education is the key to great leaders. “One generation plants the trees, another gets the shade.” – Proverb.

 Recognizing that our youth are our country's greatest national resource, VFW and Ladies Auxiliary members continue dedicating themselves to activities and programs that will enhance and enrich the lives of young people.

 Annually, the veterans' organization distributes more than $4 million in scholarships and savings bonds to America's youth through the annual Voice of Democracy, Patriot's Pen, Patriotic Art,  local and other scholarship programs.

 Locally, the members of VFW Post 6899 and Ladies Auxiliary award more than $10,000 in scholarships each year. We are honoring our deceased veterans by giving back to our community.
